چکیده
Improving phosphor photoluminescence efficiency is a key parameter to boost the performances of many optical devices. In this work, colloidal silver nanocubes, homogeneously spread on luminescent surface, have proved help both injecting and extracting light in out photoluminescent layer hence contributed significantly enhancement fluorescence. This approach has been applied two materials: well-known Y$_3$Al$_5$O$_{12}$:Ce yellow an quartz. The emission efficiency, for sol-gel derived YAG:Ce layers, increased 80\% presence optimal nanoparticle density -- whereas quartz, weakly fluorescent material, signal can be enhanced by 200-fold factor. A physical analysis based simulations shows that disorder important factor surface Ag nanoparticles crucial parameter.

A custom-built microscope has been used for photoluminescence spectroscopy and has collected images, videos, and spectra of samples to study the effects of substrates, sample density, uniformity, and QD aging with time. This set up will be used to detect single to a few molecules,...
متن کاملLarge integrated absorption enhancement in plasmonic solar cells by combining metallic gratings and antireflection coatings.
We describe an ultrathin solar cell architecture that combines the benefits of both plasmonic photovoltaics and traditional antireflection coatings. Spatially resolved electron generation rates are used to determine the total integrated current improvement under AM1.5G solar illumination, which can reach a factor of 1.8. The frequency-dependent absorption is found to strongly correlate with the...
متن کاملLarge spontaneous emission enhancement in plasmonic nanocavities
Cavity–emitter coupling can enable a host of potential applications in quantum optics, from low-threshold lasers to brighter single-photon sources for quantum cryptography1. Although some of the first demonstrations of spontaneous emission modification occurred in metallic structures2,3, it was only after the recent demonstration of cavity quantum electrodynamics effects in dielectric optical c...
متن کاملPlasmonic Thermal Conductance of Stack of Metallic Nanorings
In this paper, we study the plasmonic thermal conductance of ordered stacks of metallic nanorings in a host material. Using second quantized formalism of the Random Phase Approximation, we first determine the dispersion relations of surface plasmon waves on the stacks of nanorings. Then, using Landauer-Buttiker formalism, we determine the coefficient of plasmonic thermal conductance and heat cu...
متن کاملSurface-enhanced Raman scattering plasmonic enhancement using DNA origami-based complex metallic nanostructures.
DNA origami is a novel self-assembly technique allowing one to form various two-dimensional shapes and position matter with nanometer accuracy. We use DNA origami templates to engineer surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrates. Specifically, gold nanoparticles were selectively placed on the corners of rectangular origami and subsequently enlarged via solution-based metal deposition. The resu...
